This policy explains how NH RIDE SHARE collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website and mobile application.

1. Who we are
NH RIDE SHARE provides a technology platform that helps adults discover and coordinate shared journeys and related services. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@nhrideshare.in.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect:
- Account and profile information: name, email address, mobile number, gender or preference information, profile details and authentication-related information.
- Ride and parcel information: origin, destination, pickup and drop-off points, journey date and time, seat requirements, vehicle details, booking requests, offers, cancellations and trip status.
- Location information: locations you enter or select and, when you grant permission, device location used to help choose nearby places or journey points. We do not provide continuous live-location tracking to other users unless a clearly identified feature is introduced and enabled.
- Communications and user content: in-app chat messages, ratings, reviews, safety reports, support requests and other information you choose to submit.
- Credits and transaction records: credit balances, reservations, deductions, releases and related platform-fee records.
- Device and technical information: device identifiers, push-notification tokens, app version, language, operating system, timestamps, security logs and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage accounts and profiles;
- match users, publish and search journeys, manage bookings, invitations, offers, OTP-based trip steps and parcels;
- send service, safety, booking and account notifications;
- operate credits, platform fees, cancellations and transaction records;
- enable chat, ratings, reviews, customer support and safety reporting;
- detect misuse, fraud, security incidents and policy violations;
- maintain, troubleshoot and improve the service; and
- comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution obligations.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information:
- With other users: journey and profile information necessary to search, match, request, confirm and complete a ride or parcel. Contact information is disclosed only when the app clearly indicates it is needed for a confirmed service.
- With service providers: hosting, database, authentication, notifications, mapping, geocoding, routing, email, support, security and analytics providers that process information for us under appropriate safeguards.
- For safety and legal reasons: when reasonably necessary to investigate safety concerns, enforce our terms, protect users, respond to lawful requests or comply with applicable law.
- During a business change: if the service is reorganised, transferred or acquired, subject to applicable legal protections.
5. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Retention depends on the type of record, whether the account remains active, safety and fraud-prevention needs, disputes, and applicable legal, tax or accounting requirements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their passwords and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.
7. Your choices and rights
You may update available profile information in the app, control location and notification permissions through your device settings, and contact us to request access, correction or deletion of eligible personal information. To delete an account and associated data, follow the instructions on our Account Deletion page.
8. Age requirement
NH RIDE SHARE is intended only for people aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly permit minors to create accounts. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Third-party services and links
The service may contain links to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage users to review them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, law or data practices. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels.
